Leobo Observatory Bush Villa

Leobo opened on May 1st 2013 and this year has seen a very successful launch. Designed by Silvio Rech and Lesley Carstens, this remarkable house is state of the art and, with sweeping 360 degree views of the bushveld and rolling Waterberg Mountains, it takes your breath away. In February this year Leobo reserve was extended by an extra 4,800 acres, bringing the overall size to 23,000 acres. The land now incorporates a mountain and 8 kilometres of river, as well as dramatic gorges, crevasses, caves and huge rock pillars. Booked exclusively and serviced by a butler, maid and chef, this property is the ultimate in decadence, privacy and sheer fun.

South Africa

The hippo skeleton chandelier that hangs over the main dining table and the silver space suits in the cupboard!
This property is completely unique. The interiors are full of ingenuity and one of a kind artefacts, not to mention the research grade 20inch telescope in the observatory dome.

The house sleeps 6 adults and 4-5 children.
Whether you choose to explore the reserve on foot, quad bikes, horse, or even helicopter, specialist local guides will be provided for each of the activities to ensure safety at all times.
The reserve is entirely yours to enjoy how and when you wish.
The Observatory is the most sophisticated set up in the southern hemisphere, full robotic, and currently involved in supernova research projects.
In March 2014 the equipment was upgraded to hydrogen-alpha to provide day time viewing of the sun at high magnification, enabling the examination of minute detail on the surface.
