Ol Donyo Lodge

Ol Donyo Lodge, built on the slopes of the Chyulu Hills, offers quintessential African landscape of acacia forests and gamestudded savannah plains underneath the backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Guests have exclusive access to 275,000 acres of Maasai-owned land, which forms a vital wildlife corridor between the Amboseli and Tsavo National Parks.




One of the most stunning and beautifully located lodges in Africa, with views of Kilimanjaro. Elephants and other game frequent the waterhole by the log-pile hide. Horse riding among giraffe, zebra and oryx is a special activity. Ol Donyo is community and conservation focused lodge and a luxurious place to unwind. In 2013 became first Relais & Châteaux member property in Kenya.

Need to Know

The lodge’s nine suites all have elevated views to Mt Kilimanjaro and most have a private pool. There is one two-bedroom family suite. All suites have star-beds on top of the roof giving guests the option to sleep-out or sleep-in.


Driving, Walking, Riding, Cycling, Fly Camping. A multitude of activities at Ol Donyo Lodge include day and night game drives, guided walking and mountain biking, horse safaris for various ability levels, scenic flights around Kilimanjaro (subject to availability), and day trips to Amboseli National Park. New for 2014: 4 and 5 day horse riding programme with mobile fly camping available for all ability riders or non-riders.
