Selinda Canoe Trail

The Selinda Canoe Trail is a must do now expeditionary canoe safari along Botswana's Selinda Spillway which has only flowed since 2009 and will dry up again soon. Exceptional rains in Botswana in early 2014 has ensured that the Spillway will continue to flow certainly for 2014 and 2015, but explore this remarkable, pristine watercourse whilst you still can!

Experiencing the bush from water level, powered only by paddle, is extraordinary; the Selinda Canoe Trail reverts back to the spirit of safaris of old, when days were spent on impromptu exploration and each night was spent camping in a simple dome tent along the banks of a river.

Need to Know

A fully backed-up 5 days/4 nights canoeing and walking expedition for 2-8 people on set departures 16 May-11 September 2014; 20 May-11 September 2015. A 45 km journey along the Selinda Spillway camping each night in dome tents with roll-mattresses, comfortable linen and bucket showers.

Canoeing and walking safaris. New for 2014 and 2015 is a middle day which is a full day of walking to otherwise inaccessible pans, prolific for the wildlife concentrations. Whilst canoeing is the obvious main focus, there is as much time spent walking as canoeing, stopping and exploring whenever the mood and animal activity dictates.
